Benton Community Show Choir Rules and Expectations:

“Practice doesn’t make perfect.

Perfect practice makes perfect”

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Being a member of show choir is being a member of a team. We must work together for our team to be successful and accomplish our goals. Teamwork takes cooperation, courtesy and commitment. Everyone is important to the team and everyone has responsibilities to the team. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Show respect for the director, other members of the ensemble, and yourself.
  • Show respect for the choir room, the equipment and the music.
  • Be on time to all rehearsals and performances.
  • Be prepared with music folder and in seat when it is time for class to begin.
  • Put forth your best effort every day with a positive attitude.
  • No gum or food in class (water bottles are an exception).

If you are unexcused (meaning you didn't inform anyone ahead of time) from any practice whether it be during the day or outside of school you will not perform at the next scheduled event.

No excuses, No exceptions.

Please get your uniform rental turned in as soon as possible ($125 for Celebration. Co, $75 for Jubilation).

When we attend show choir invitationals we expect you to be on your best behavior. Be a class act and support other groups.  Don’t walk around in your costume. Once you’re dressed, stay in the homeroom.  Act professional and polite to kids from other schools.

Look at calendar now and know that if there is a conflict with another activity. We need to know immediately that you will not be with us so alternate plans can be made. If it is possible for you to do both, attempts will be made to do so.

Aside from school sponsored activities or family emergencies there is no excuse for ever missing a concert or competition.
