John Hayden is the proud father of
seven year-old Taylor Marie, Three year-old Carter James and Baby Ella Jo. He
has been the vocal music instructor at Benton Community Middle School and
High School since 1993. His duties at Benton Community include directing two high school mixed choirs, a men's choir, a women's choir, two show choirs, a jazz choir and a madrigal choir. At the middle school he directs an eighth grade mixed choir and a 130 voice seventh and eighth grade boy's choir. Show Choirs under his direction have won numerous competitions.
John also directs the Cedar Rapids Harmony Hawks Men's Chorus. The Harmony Hawks are the Cedar Rapids, Iowa chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society. Under his direction the chorus has won the Plateau AA Championship at the Central States Convention. He has also competed in a number of quartets at the District and International level and currently sings bass for "Trademark" in the Central States region. He is an active clinician at choral festivals in the United States and Canada, an arranger, festival judge, and has been on the faculty at the SPEBSQSA sponsored "Director's College". John and his wife reside in Blairstown, Iowa.
Alyssa Stoddard is
the K-12 Vocal Music instructor at HLV
School District. She
was a 2004 graduate of Central College, receiving her B.A. in Vocal Music
Education. Through her studies, she has had the opportunity to travel and
perform both in the United States and internationally.
While at Central, Alyssa was a voice teacher for community music
out-reach program “Music Connection.” Alyssa was also a 2000 graduate
of Benton Community High School, where she was a member of Celebration
Company show choir and various other choral ensembles.
Besides teaching at HLV, Alyssa also teaches voice lessons in her
home and is an instructor for the Cedar Valley Show Choir Camp. |
